Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nautilus-share
Steps to recreate the problem: make a folder to share with some files in. give the files and folder the permissions "drwx------" i.e. user has full access, no access for anyone else use nautlius-share to share the folder and choose the option "Allow others to create and delete files" when you click "modify share" a message will appear and inform you that the permissions of the files needs to be changed. allow the permissions to be changed. check the permissions of the files and you will find that they have the permissions "drw--w--w-" when they should at least have the permissions "drw-rw-rw-". It looks like the tool assumes that the folder and files begin with permissions "drw-r--r--" ... to be fair for most users this will be true because of the default umask 0022 but this could confuse people in some circumstances. version 0.7.2-12 karmic ** Affects: nautilus-share (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- "r" permissions not set for g&o when creating share which all can access https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/480300 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
