Public bug reported: Binary package hint: udev
Tested wit udev 147~-6 If you play sound, for example, from Rythmbox, then switch to a different vt logged in as a different user, the sound gets cut off. This is caused by the console kit acl integration. The user playing sound is a member of the audio group, but because udev acl also gave him an acl user level rw permission when the audio starts, then removes that specific permission when console is switched, the audio gets cut off. In Jaunty, when dev permission was handled by policykit, I was able to work around this by granting the audio playing user permission there, and therefore, the acl entry was never removed. Now, however, the only work-around I found is to comment out sound devices category from /lib/udev/70-acl.rules, and therefore, the only permission that is ever used to play audio is the group permission access, which does not change when changing vt/users. ** Affects: udev (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- audio cuts off when switching vt https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/480261 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
