Max, this may or may not be related to your problem, but you are
currently running the Jaunty kernel (2.6.28) instead of the Karmic
kernel (2.6.31). To fix that particular problem, please run 'sudo
update-grub' and reboot your machine. Note that if you have been having
problems with sound, this may fix that as well.
Let us know if you still have problems after rebooting.
