Second test with openchrome SVN 817: external monitor disconnected. Results: the desktop on Panel looks like the same as in comment #61: parts on the right hand side and bottom is not shown because it is too big to fit 1024x768. Mouse pointer is shown. Good news is that the system is not freezing any more.
