Ok...I had the same problem here...: works on live, doesn't work after installation.
Now it's working.. DISCLAIMER: I tried many of this things before the following.. I tried to reinstall bcmwl-kernel-source but then I got a "quiet" error there.. " Setting up dkms (2.1.0.1-0ubuntu1) ... * Running DKMS auto installation service for kernel 2.6.31-14-generic [ OK ] Setting up bcmwl-kernel-source (5.10.91.9+bdcom-0ubuntu4) ... Adding Module to DKMS build system Doing initial module build /usr/sbin/dkms: line 35: patch: command not found Error! Application of patch 0001-MODULE_LICENSE.patch failed. Check /var/lib/dkms/bcmwl/5.10.91.9+bdcom/build/ for more information. Installing initial module Error! Could not locate wl.ko for module bcmwl in the DKMS tree. You must run a dkms build for kernel 2.6.31-14-generic (x86_64) first. Done. " So... after I installed "patch" (which should be a dependency of bcmwl-kernel-source in some way) everything worked "fine".
