Still not fixed:
Ubuntu 9.10 karmic koala i386 pae updated system or on a plain live cd...

usb-stick partition layout:

After entering the password for the encrypted volume the mount doesn't
work. Maybe manually mounting.

To get rid of the annoying popup I disabled automount media in gconf-editor.
/apps/nautilus/preferences/media_automount > false
