Btw, I have trouble with addon-storage on HAL too, generating a lot of messages 
in /var/log/messages:

These message occur even when addon-storage is nog connected. My workaround 
here:
# sudo killall hald-addon-storage

But this is not a workaround for this new problem, which occurs after upgrading 
to Ubuntu 9.10 from 9.04.
Hope problem(s) can be solved.
