Running ALSA-Mixer from Terminal shows the Realtek ALC883 chip, HDA ATI SB motherboard sound package, but I am unable to get _any_ sound from Karmic. Sound had worked since I started with Gutsy, although PulseAudio since Intrepid had been problematical. Going to try disabling PulseAudio and going back to ALSA to see if that works.
