Hi Steve,

during the update a lot of old linux kernels were dicarded from the 64
Bit system.

I do have a dual boot between 32 Bit and 64 Bit ubuntu (64 Bit updated,
32 Bit fallback, installed after the 64 Bit System) The first boot
options are various kernel version of the 32 bit system, then memtest
and finally the 64 Bit options start. Even earlier, I still had a
Windows partition.

Linux 4TV 2.6.28-15-generic #49-Ubuntu SMP Tue Aug 18 19:25:34 UTC 2009 x86_64 
GNU/Linux

Thus, I do not have 2.6.32 something as Brad mentioned in #5.

Time for a re- install or have you still got any ideas?
