when tested again using vlc 1.0.1-1ubuntu1 on ubuntu 9.04 and the same 96 kHz 24-bit flac file, this is no longer happening. although i still get a number of: [0xa059cb8] main audio output debug: audio output is starving (11766), playing silence [0xa059cb8] alsa audio output debug: recovered from buffer underrun
which is causing 'skipping'. however, a different 96 kHz 24-bit flac file is still stopping in the middle of playback with vlc 1.0.1-1ubuntu1. this file was created in the same way as the first file, i.e. exported from audacity 1.3.5-2 running on ubuntu 8.10. it stops at the same point every time, at about 6:12 (out of 11:04 total). i set verbosity to 2 and have attached the output. the file stopped playing and the message at line 213 was displayed. several seconds passed and then the rest of the messages showed up, then i closed vlc. ** Attachment added: "vlc messages 2" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/35112218/vlc%20messages%202 -- vlc stops playing flac file https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/383443 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
