Sorry if this sounds basic, but I am relatively new to Linux and am having the same issue with the overheating acer 5315 (kernel 2.6.31-14). I would like to apply the patch that seems to be working for all of the other responders, but am not sure exactly how to do that. Can anyone provide me with a little guidance?
