I've got the same issue. Whenever I try to suspend/hibernate, it just hangs with a black screen and remains on. I have no terminal capabilities. A forced shutdown is required to bring the computer out of this state.
Upon reboot it tells me there was a kernel problem with no further information. This only happened after the upgrade to Karmic Koala and did not occur on Jaunty. -- [Acer, inc.
