At risk of being told off, I think I may be experiencing the same problem ;)
After the upgrade from 9.04 to 9.10 I get past the splash screen and then I get something like "stayahead process terminated" and then just a black screen. I'm not exactly a Linux noob but I'm wondering what steps could I take to get a command line from here and then what command could I run to get the update that fixes this?
