*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 351166 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/351166
I'd like to have the duplicate status of this bug reviewed. With my 900A running Ubuntu 9.10 I get the same behavior as the reporter of this bug. I can successfully turn off the wireless by pressing the wireless switch function key. The blue wireless LED goes out and Network Manager disconnects. Problem is, I can't turn the wireless back on. If I hit the function key again the blue LED comes back on, but Network Manager can't find the interface and it doesn't show up in ifconfig. If I try to manually bring up the wlan0 interface with ifconfig I get this error: sudo ifconfig wlan0 up SIOCSIFFLAGS: Input/output error Here's some dmesg output: ath5k phy0: failed to wakeup the MAC Chip ath5k phy0: can't reset hardware (-5) This behavior is different from that of Ubuntu 9.04 (wireless switch does nothing - will not turn of wireless radio) and that of the bug report that is linked to this one as a duplicate. -- eeePC 900A will not resume wifi connection after being disable with Fn+F2 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/428893 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
