I'm assuming that there's someone working in the background regarding this bug. I think this bug is related to several other bugs such as internal mic not working. The 9.10 release, in general, is a complete rework compared to its predecessors and most of these issues seems to be fine/working in 9.04. But I know where you're getting at, it's really disappointing since it seems that no one is taking action on this issue.
