I observed no changes in activity when my system reported this bug to me. It simply appeared randomly when I wasn't really doing anything. I have Karmic, and I installed it only a few days ago. i used the Wubi downloader to install it on top of WIndows XP SP3. I have never used any Linux OS before, so I don't really know anything about this that I can contribute.
