Public bug reported:

I’m upgrading to Karmic Koala as I type.

I downloaded the Alt CD torrent last night, and then followed the
instructions for an offline upgrade. I want to get to Karmic quickly,
and worry about updating the system later.

However, it is now downloading thousands of packages. It’s too late to
fix this for Karmic, but you’ll want to get it right for Lucid.

(Incidentally, it seems virtually impossible to report a bug these days
without using the ubuntu-bug command. To get here, I had to do ‘ubuntu-
bug gedit’ and then change the package from ‘gedit’ to ‘I don’t know’.)
