I don't know if the option is "hpet=disable" (without the end "d") or "hpet=disabled", but I remember to use this option with the 9.04 and the things worked well. I will give a try to the option in this new release. Maybe I will have some lucky and things will start to work. I will report my test results as soon as I got some time to do so.
