@Daniel T Chen I have installed the following image on the Dell Inspiron 1525 http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/20091028.5/
-I opened sound recorder and recorded using the internal mic Result: works -I plugged in the external mic (expecting jack-sensing to switch automatically) and recorded again Result: still recording internal mic -I went into gnome-volume-control and changed the input device from Microphone 1 to Microphone 2 and recorded again. Note: The abstraction is Microphone 1 Microphone 2 not Internal Mic and External Mic. Result. Both Mic1 and Mic2 point to the internal microphone. I can't confirm that this issue has been resolved. Yes, I have a choice to switch between Mic 1 & 2, so if that is what David Ayers tested he may need to test actually recording from an external microphone, not just checking if the microphone is available in the pulldown. I can switch between two microphone as well, but they both seem to point the same input hardware (top internal mic, next to camera). If you need me to use an alsa option for this hardware please specify and I will re- test. @David Ayers 1) Have you actually tested an external mic? 2) Do you have any options that you added to /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf to make the external mic work? -- Dell Inspiron 1525 External Microphone Issues https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/439635 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
