Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala also suffers from this bug. However, the workaround I applied in 9.04 (mentioned in the first post in this thread) causes kernel instability in 9.10. I found out, that this was because I put the blacklist command in the wrong file.
That's because the blacklisting should be done by editing the existing /etc/modeprobe.d/blacklist.conf. And not by creating a new file named blacklist. Blacklist.conf by default already contains a list of blacklisted kernel modules. You can simply add the following lines for acer_wmi: # switch the wireless chipset on blacklist acer_wmi You can use the following command for editing: gksudo gedit /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf ** Changed in: ubuntu Status: New => Confirmed -- Acer Aspire One running on Jaunty: Atheros wifi only works after blacklisting acer_wmi https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/362816 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
