It's X server issue (driver or whatever else). I have the same bug, and I installed the latest available BIOS from MSI two days ago. 1. it's not a BIOS problem in any way as i worked with Jaunty and it works with Leopard and Windows. 2. it's not a gnome/kde problem as you get the same problem if you issue the command: echo XX > /proc/acpi/video/IGD/LCD/brightness (where XX= 100 or 80 ... 60) 3. if you run the echo command above from a tty (instead of X server), of if you use FN keys from tty, it works perfectly.
It happens only from a X session..... and thereby it's issue with X server. The workaround is to type Ctrl+F1 and then Ctrl+F7 -- brightness is broken on MSI WIND U100 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/415023 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to kdebase-workspace in ubuntu. -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list kubuntu-b...@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs
