Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: ubuntu-restricted-extras

The recommends for ubuntu-restricted-extras include the 'stripped'
versions of the ffmpeg libs.

"libavcodec52, libavformat52, libpostproc51, libswscale0"

If the 'extra' versions of these files are installed prior to installing
the restricted-extras' package then they are removed, along with
anything depending on them ( devede is an ex.

While there is nothing preventing one from re-installing the 'extra'
libs this is confusing to many users and is quite the opposite of what
they expected to achieve.
