Just an observation: it appears that when disconnecting the AC power,
the power manager thinks that the laptop lid is closed, which is why it
goes into suspend. If I set the lid close action to "blank screen" when
running on battery, then the power manager blanks the screen upon
disconnection of the AC power instead of entering suspend mode. I did
not have this problem with Jaunty (although to be fair, I don't think my
lid events were fully working properly in Jaunty either).
