Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-settings-daemon
See the .xsession-errors log. I think the entries of Usage:program_name [address][:port] may be related. I have seen the same error message output to the console profusely when running "grip". I have not, run any X Windows applications as another user in this session. There is no process named gnome-settings-daemon running. I am only running apps on localhost. I have not noticed errors which i associate with a missing gnome-settings-daemon. Gnome applications seem to be able to acquire their settings as long as the user logged into the console is the same as the one running the application.
