Can confirm here in the latest Karmic build. When working on a .doc file (probably not important) To reproduce: Write a sentence, and put a footnote at the end (make sure there are no spaces after it) Press return and type another sentence. Backspace this sentence (twice - since I have a first-line inset) so it moves up to follow the other sentence Try and insert 1 or 2 spaces Spaces are the size of the superscript not the main text
