Public bug reported:

Having a odd issue with my wired connection. I'm connecting and able to
browse the Internet, home LAN etc.

The odd thing is that I cannot maintain a steady throughput of data... I
go from full speed transfer down to 0 and back again every few seconds.
Looks like it may be interrupted.

Thought it may be related to this bug
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/294092 but changing
MTU has no affect.

Running latest Karmic with updates as of this post date on a Dell Studio
XPS 16 with BCM5784M Gigabit Ethernet
