Well, I rather agree with you. The other side of the coin is that the crappy DSDT supplied by the manufacture is the reason to have those problems. At least you can remedy your problems booting with acpi=off and compiling a kernel. I urge you to file a bug report with all the screaming tags you can think of. If someone from the devs knew about the problem, a fast fix should be already present.
