I tried to patch a fresh install of mythbuntu karmic 64 rc by following almost all your suggestions First I had to insert the repository 1. deb http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ karmic universe main restricted multiverse [because build-essential were not found] 2. sudo apt-get install build-essential mercurial [worked with no error] 3. sudo apt-get install linux-headers [asked for the version to install then I didn't installed - I assumed already installed] 4. hg clone http://hg.kewl.org/v4l-dvb-fixes/ [worked ok] 5. rm -Rf /lib/modules/2.6.28-11-generic/kernel/drivers/media/ [worked ok] 6. cd v4l-dvb-fixes [worked ok] 7. make [a lot of errors starting with: /home/dario/v4l-dvb-fixes/v4l/et61x251_core.c: In function 'et61x251_ioctl_v4l2': /home/dario/v4l-dvb-fixes/v4l/et61x251_core.c:2493: warning: the frame size of 1408 bytes is larger than 1024 bytes and following with /home/dario/v4l-dvb-fixes/v4l/firedtv-1394.c:21:17: error: dma.h: No such file or directory ... /home/dario/v4l-dvb-fixes/v4l/firedtv-1394.c:37: warning: 'struct hpsb_iso' declared inside parameter list /home/dario/v4l-dvb-fixes/v4l/firedtv-1394.c:37: warning: its scope is only this definition or declaration, which is probably not what you want /home/dario/v4l-dvb-fixes/v4l/firedtv-1394.c: In function 'rawiso_activity_cb': /home/dario/v4l-dvb-fixes/v4l/firedtv-1394.c:53: error: dereferencing pointer to incomplete type /home/dario/v4l-dvb-fixes/v4l/firedtv-1394.c:54: error: implicit declaration of function 'hpsb_iso_n_ready' /home/dario/v4l-dvb-fixes/v4l/firedtv-1394.c:61: error: dereferencing pointer to incomplete type
