I agree that the bootloader issue is over simplified by the installer. I wanted to install everything on an USB (flash) disk. By accident the bootloader was installed on the hard disk (of my companies notebook): oeps. I needed the USB for every boot. After my mistake i found out that under 'advanced' the installer is perfectly able to install everything on the USB (including bootloader).
In the overview at the end it should at least mention where it will write the grub stuff. Then I have a fair change to see that i am writing on a HD. Also the naming of the partitions /dev/sdd is not as clear as it can be. Ubuntu usually recognizes and mentions 'USB something'. That would be helpful to have also during install. -- Bootloader options aren't clear https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/153615 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
