I have this problem, too, on a Microcenter PowerSpec Intel based system.
The builtin card was a problem in the past because Googleearth would not
render properly when effects were used.  I had to use "none" for visual
effects.

Now my system locks in 9.10 when choosing Gnome.  Failsafe Gnome works
fine, but because I am locked, I can not right click the desktop to see
or change the setting.  Attached would have been the file you requested
in Bug #459630 above, but there is no xorg.conf.  Thank you.
