Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gimp

Package: Gimp 2.6.7
Ubuntu: 9.10 - Karmic Kaola

When using Gimp with any of the painting tools (paintbrush, healing
brush etc.), while working on a image using the touchpad, the paintbrush
will suddenly fly across the screen. Of course, this will leave an ugly
streak across the photo you are trying to work with. It is unfortunate
and frustrating that it happens constantly. I have attached a simple
path that I drew to illustrate the problem. The straight line from right
to left is the cursor flying across the screen.

Any ideas what the issue is? Please let me know if I can add any more
details.

Thanks,
Partha
