Travis: I suppose Gnome developers wouldn't accept it anyway. I think
there were number of patches that targeted this silly thing and yet --
not possible to have it in Gnome.

There is more to this. There is even an option in metacity (which I
believe should be the thing to be changed because of the compiz's
integration with metacity, see:
http://forum.compiz.org/showthread.php?p=60424) that allows to do just
that (i.e. swap middle/right mouse button when resizing: gconf-editor ->
/apps/metacity/general/resize_with_right_button) but it would not work
with compiz (haven't tried without compiz though...).

So the question is what is the Ubuntu way of handling such issues? When
there is no go for a patch upstream, does ubuntu maintains it in its own
repositories?
