Public bug reported:

A single pop occurs at a non-periodic intervals ranging from about 20
seconds to several minutes between pops. Most pops occur about every
1-2 minutes though. Profile is set to Analog Stereo Duplex, however, I
still got pops on other profiles (Digital Stereo) even though I got no
sound output from any of the digital profiles. After going back to
Analog Stereo Duplex, I clicked on the different alert sounds and they
all played correctly w/o any popping or static.
