I tested the 9.10 (Karmic) Release Candidate as a Live CD on my ThinkPad T42 (which was running Ubuntu 8.10 with no problems).
The desktop startup noise plays, and the panels appear with no icons. The desktop background has not loaded. At this point the display freezes, including the mouse pointer, and the machine is unresponsive to anything but a hard reset. I tested this twice more in case it was a random glitch, and the same symptoms appeared. I tried booting using a 9.04 Live CD and did not encounter the problem. -- [RV250] thinkpad t40 with ati radeon rv 250 (M 9000) freezes https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/374780 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
