Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xorg
Since upgrading to the 9.10 beta my external monitor (a Samsung SyncMaster 172T) is not detected correctly anymore. Instead, the display preferences tool thinks I have an "Apple Computer 13"" monitor with a set of resolutions that is incompatible with my Samsung. It all works fine when adding modes manually using xrandr, but this is obviously not ideal. The problem appears to be that the system reports identical information for both the laptop LCD and the external monitor: they are both reported as APP 0x9c5c (which then somehow gets mapped to the Apple name).
