Every software has its developing process, and this includes finding bugs and fixing the bugs. While a software has a bug, packagers (and/or developer) need to look for alternatives, and publish software that does what it says. Is better to remove the "print" button from Evince.
This bug is a shame as could be any other bug in a similar situation; imagine that Ubuntu included the Empathy IM as the default messenger some years ago, when Empathy could have several bugs...
