This is not a duplicate of 109064 (which is now resolved). The problem is the wording of the installer/liveCD boot menu choices. It offers an option to "Check disc for defects" even when you aren't using a disc. Many people now install Ubuntu from a USB stick or an SD card (it's *much* faster than a CD or DVD, and easy options to create such a bootable image from a .iso are now in the "System > Administration > USB Startup Disk Creator" menu). This is also now the recommended way to install the Netbook Remix.
Perhaps it should say "Check this media for defects"? -- Ubuntu should use "test drive" instead of "live CD" and "desktop CD" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/276387 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
