The CD has no defect, I checked it. I can't attach /var/log/installer/dm, because it doesn't exist, when the live environment starts after selecting "Install Ubuntu". When I open the file system directory, it is just empty. Removing "quiet splash" makes no change as well. Sometimes the live environment is even not started, and the screen stays just black. Once I even succeeded in starting the installation process, but I couldn't reproduce it. This time, when it was working, my laptop was attached to my docking station and I use the external screen and I remove "quiet splash". But it just worked once... I used still the daily-live CD 20091014
