It shouldn't be the case, dude.

Anyway, you may:
1) pass the 'ipv6.disable=1' kernel parameter (in your menu.lst)
2) configure your net manually, deleting all 'ipv6' strings (in 
/etc/network/interfaces or in /etc/resolv.conf). I don't remember exactly.
