With kernel 2.6.31.14 #47 the patches to the dell-laptop module have been committed and will probably fix the problem for many of you. I suggest you remove module dell-laptop-dkms for those of you who have installed it, and try upgrading to the new kernel. Discussions about this are in bug 430809.
