You seem to use the direct pci backend. It doesn't work that well. (It did work on my nvidia though, but with problems)
And patch I provided addresses only i2c access. If you use the nvidia binary driver, you should have /dev/i2c-0 /dev/i2c-1 .. one of these devices belong to nvidia. To see which belong to nvidia, run i2cdetect without arguments (there probably be few) If you don't have these devices, try to load i2c-dev kernel module.
