I just found out how to fix the sound in vlc, I changed the preferences to show all. I then went to audio/output modules/alsa and changed the setting to SB Audigy2 platinum [SB024p] : APC capure/standard pcm playback (hw:2,0). I have a feeling most my games and apps are also mis- configuring on install but they do not have a gui way to change this. Does any one know how I configure the audio for everything else. What kind of file names am I looking for and what lines need to be changed?
