Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: pulseaudio

Hi there,

Im using a HP laptop, with a ATI IXP chipset. The sound play fine, but
recording is impossible. Using pavucontrol command I can see that the
mic is detected by the system, when I talk the input volume changes
showing that is input been detected, but I cant record it at all in any
application. The only fix that I could get from the internet that seems
to work, is remove pulse audio. So pure Alsa environment you do the job.

Sorry if it isnt a bug, but it seems to be at least a misconfigurated
file. Changing all possible alsamixer configurations for mic capture, I
couldnt solve this. So if I could help to fix this misbehaviour, I will
be glad to do it..

thanks.
