With all updates applied as of 14 Oct, 10:00am BST using vanilla wine1.2 (1.1.31-0ubuntu1) from the Kamic sources, I'm still experiencing occasional pops and crackles fairly regularly, and then eventually permanent stuttering that can only be resolved with a restart of Spotify.
