I also have this issue. It's seems like it happens after I leave firefox running and the screensaver starts. To "correct" it I just left-click the icon to the left of the address-bar twice, I don't remember the name of that icon, but for launchpad.net it's a white square with the letter lp in it. favicon?? The first click gives me a security message, the second removes that message. Then it works for a while again.
But I while back I turned the screensaver off and only use powermanager - turn off screen after n minutes.
