Public bug reported: Binary package hint: apt
When downloading updates for Ubuntu, the size of the updated .deb files is way too high. We have to provide something similar to deltarpm, to produce delta debian packages. An Ubuntu user who is on dialup is definitely not able to install security updates, as the download size of these updates is just too much for a dialup line. This is true for users who have a limited download volume, too. ** Affects: apt (Ubuntu) Importance: Untriaged Status: Unconfirmed -- Package/security updates download size is too big https://launchpad.net/bugs/54029 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
