Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: devscripts

debchange addes the string "ubuntuX" to my version numbers where X
increases with each invocation of 'debchange --increment'.

Steps to reproduce:

 1. Create a chaneglog file with a starting version of (0.1)
 2. Run 'debchange --increment'
 3. Observe that your new version is called '0.1ubuntu1'
 4. Run 'debchange --increment'
 5. Observe that your new version is called '0.1ubuntu2'

Solution:

Remove ubuntu specific customisations from debchange, or at least make
them non-default.

Not everyone using Ubuntu is packaging deb(5) packages for distribution
in Ubuntu.

** Affects: devscripts (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: Unconfirmed
