After changes, further testing: reboot failed hibernate. I first did a mkswap, could not boot test-karmic32-beta, nor easy-peasy, or older Ubuntu, nor very close copy of karmic so I did fscks on all partitions. PROBLEM=(I think) REISERFS DATA PARTION required a FSCK after hibernation and reboot. Apparently the other OS'es could not access or auto-fix at startup INCONSISTANT FILE SYSTEM.
Somehow the hibernate leaves the REISERFS in an inconsistent state which REQUIRES a FSCK. THIS IS VERY SERIOUS. NOTE: my desktop using Jaunty , not updated for a month, also had a hibernation problem yesterday, resolved by booting single, mkswap (don't think this was necessary) then reboot. I will continue further testing IF I get a response. -- Lenovo INVALID hibernate/resume failure https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/449698 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
