Public bug reported: Binary package hint: wine1.2
I've run Eve Online using the Beta's of Wine for a long time, it works very well! When I started testing Karmic it worked very well with the "Wine1.2" package from the repo, 1.1.30 had a bug impacting Eve, but 1.1.31 has that bug fixed. I now have an interesting situation. The game fails to start about 19 out of 20 times with the "Wine1.2" version of 1.1.31 from the Karmic repo, but is 100% reliable from the WineHQ (Jaunty) ppa. Running X86-64 on 9.10 Beta, patched. I can easily swap between them, and it reliably does not work with the Wine version in the Karmic repo. Has some patches been made at canonical, I'm not sure what the difference would be between these two versions. There appears to be another user reporting this problem on the WineHQ forum, I'm waiting for a registration to ask him which verison he is using by he is testing Karmic also:- http://forum.winehq.org/viewtopic.php?p=32914&sid=ab89ae97e20771745cdc834b0eae298b The english is bad, but it sounds like the same problem.
