Also confirmed in a fresh install of Jaunty sudo apt-get install tightvncserver sudo apt-get install xrdp
Log in on a remote machine using the rdp protocols (I used the default Ubuntu Terminal server Client and also the Windows XP remote desktop client thing) Log in was a success... if the window is not full screen, you can close the window and resume your session. Gnome theme seems to become a mixture of some kind of default and human. Mouse functions correctly. Keyboard mapping is (quote Craig Ringer) 'insane', it is unusable for anything other than mouse actions. To get back on track with the subject of this thread, it would seem that xrdp within the Ubuntu repos is really borked and will only work without a keyboard or a stable theme if you use tightvncserver and no other vnc service installed - a pity really - although - according to sourceforge - it seems to be still in beta and code is still being commited upstream (at the time of writing, 30 hours ago). I will report back when I get a lil more time. Before I abandon my attempts on using xrdp, I will try and use the latest cvs trunk and build myself -- xrdp package doesn't work out of box https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/220005 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
